ACCESSORIES
Shelves
Shelves are manufactured from the same easy clean materials
as those used for the pens. With the exception of the 'Domain' pen, they fit
between the front and back panels and are available in two widths. They are supplied complete with clips for
attaching the shelf to the mesh at any required level.
Cats really enjoy a perch off the ground to sit on,
particularly nursing queens that want the odd break from the family. In our
view, a shelf will be the most appreciated accessory you can provide within the
pen.
The 'DOMAIN' uses deep
shelves but the fitting of the shelves is a little more complicated. They are
secured to the mesh at one end and the other end is supported by
a frame
attached to the central post of the adjacent panel.
Domain Shelf Support
This attaches to the mid vertical tube of back or side panel and can carry one
shelf or two adjacent shelves at a height difference of 6" (150mm). It is
necessary to design the layout of any shelves you may wish to fit into your
'DOMAIN' and then decide how many supports you need.
Castors
All our pens except for the 'DOMAIN' and 'FLATLET' are
supplied with provision in the feet for easy fitting of our castors. The castors
are a heavy duty type with 2 inch diameter nylon double wheels, a double ball
race pivot and are capable of carrying substantially more weight than any of our
pens with several Maine Coons inside! If a shelf is the most appreciated
accessory by the cat, castors will be most appreciated by the owner. The pen
fitted with castors can be easily moved to allow clearing up of spilt litter or
any other mess that has been scattered out of the pen. Please note that castors
add 2.75 inches (7 cm) to the overall height of a pen.
Stands.
Stands are available for the 'CHALET', 'STACKER', 'MEWS' and 'KITTENING
PEN'. Their purpose is to raise the pen by about
18 inches (450 mm) to make handling the cats and cleaning out the pen very much
easier. The feet of the pen fit securely into location points at the top of the
Stand and provision is made in the feet of the Stand to allow castors to be
fitted.
Recessed Litter Tray.
This is predominantly used with the multi-tier models. A hole
is cut in the upper floor and an extra floor support tube is supplied to
reinforce the floor around the hole. Two litter trays are supplied
to allow the hole to be blocked off whilst the other litter tray is cleaned.
Establishments that have standardised their own size of litter tray can specify
the size and we will cut the hole to suit.
Plastic Sheeting
This is 4.5 mm thick beige U/V stabilised polypropylene Lightly
embossed on one side and smooth on the other. This is the material we use for the pen flooring.
Our stock material is 29.25" (718mm) and 37.25" (946mm) wide x
118" (3000mm) long. It can be used for flooring existing pens, for boxing in part of a
pen or for sneeze barriers.
Litter Barriers
Litter barriers can only be fitted to 'STACKER' pens or to 'CHALET', 'MEWS' and 'APARTMENT' pens supplied in stacker form. They consist of sheets of
flooring material machined to fit exactly onto the special stub mouldings supplied with the pens.
This is designed to ensure that no litter granules can fall from the upper pen
into the lower pen
Sneeze Barriers.
Sneeze barriers can be supplied to fit any of the pens. They
are normally only required when cats from different environments are housed in
adjacent pens, in which case they are attached by hooks to the mesh of the adjoining
pens.
Roofs.
Roofs are available for all our pens. These can be full roofs
to cover the complete pen or
partial roofs over just one half or quarter of the pen.. They are manufactured
from bronze tinted U/V. stabilised twinwall polycarbonate
sheet and are secured to the U.P.V.C. tubes of the top panel of the pen.
Ramp & Bridges
Ramps are 6" (150mm) wide and can be made up to 5ft (1.8M)
long. They are fitted with snap on hooks at one end for attachment to the tube
of the pen or to the front edge of a shelf. Carpet is attached to the ramp using
stainless steel screw sand can be replaced by the customer as necessary. Bridges
are similar to ramps but have hooks at both ends and are made to an exact length
to bridge between two shelves at the same level. They are not fitted with a
carpet.
Doors
Extra doors can be fitted into the panels at almost any position.
However, the catch moulding is handed which means that all doors must have the
hinges on the left, the catch on the right and open outwards.
